Whatsapp new Dark Mode feature rolled out with Android 10.0

This is the equivalent of roughly 646 years of video calls per day. As of February 2017, WhatsApp had over 1.2 billion users globally, reaching 1.5 billion monthly active users by the end of 2017.

WhatsApp always keeps adding more exciting features to match the competition present in the tech market. Now, on the other hand, users are requesting a few new features from WhatsApp.

One of those features being ‘Dark Mode’. Now with the release of Android Q 10.0, support for Dark Theme is available at the system level. So, finally WhatsApp listened to the users and they are partially rolling out the support for Dark Mode in WhatsApp on Android 10.

However, it is not fully functional. In order to use it, users need to change some settings manually.

Steps to enable whatsapp dark mode feature:

  1. First, go to the Settings menu of Android 10.
  2. Now unlock Developer Option. In order to do that – Open About Phone > Tap Build number 7 times.
  3. Browse to Developer Options > Override force-dark” setting and enable it.
  4. Now, Open WhatsApp and enjoy the dark mode.

Note: This setting will enable dark mode for all the app, be it supported or unsupported app.
