Qualcomm is well-known for its smartphone processors and each year they upgrade their Flagship 800-series processors. But, this year, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 got its unexpected upgrade in the form of Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus. On paper, the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus is said to offer a 15% performance boost compared to its predecessor.
Well, we haven’t got a lot of smartphones based on the new SD855 Plus SoC and some recent reports suggest that Qualcomm is all set to launch its next-generation flagship SoC in next month that is November 2019.
Yes, I am talking about Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. Now, it is anticipated that this new SoC could be fabricated using TSMC’s second-generation 7nm processor.
Some earlier reports suggested that Qualcomm will be launching its next-generation SoC ( Qualcomm Snapdragon 865) in December this year, but now these new reports is contradicting the previous ones. The reason behind this early launch is probably to keep up with the competition from OEMs like Samsung and Huawei.
Further, the report suggests, that smartphone manufacturers Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, and Xiaomi will also be showcasing their prototype devices running Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC.
